I am a big fan of seaweed, especially since my trip to Okinawa and interviewing the
Willcox brothers (co-principle investigators of the Okinawan Centenarian Study) and
seeing seaweed available everywhere from restaurants, grocery stores, mini-marts,
school lunches, airport snack stands, etc.. Seaweed in some form is a daily staple of
the Okinawan Centenarians. (Watch Video!)
So I have been eating it daily. First in my cooked soups. But now I just eat a 5 x 6
sheet of Nori or Kombu. To lazy to cook with it most of the time.
A 1/2 teaspoon of a brown seaweed (Fucus vesiculosus) powder was used in the study.
I think seaweed should be a daily preventive substance for hormone dependent cancers
(breast, ovarian, prostate, uterine cancers, etc.) and why not give it a trial for
endometriosis!
